Opportunities for adults to learn more about their Faith:

1. Sunday Morning Topics.

On Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:00 am (between the 8:00 and 10:15 Masses) there is a Christian formation session for adults dealing with topics of faith, ministry and morals. All parishioners, especially parents of children in Christian formation classes, are invited to attend. In the Fall, 2007, we will review a video series on the lands of the Bible. For more information, contact Deacon Bob Durel at 468-3600, ext 111 or bdurel@holyspiritvb.org

2. Tuesday Evening Scripture Studies.

During this Summer (2007) we are studying how saying the rosary is praying the scriptures. Sessions begin at 7:00, following the evening liturgy. We are using the Little Rock Scripture Series from Liturgical Press for our organizing structure of this scripture study. All parishioners are invited to attend and participate in the discussion. For more information, contact Deacon Bob Durel at 468-3600, ext 111 or bdurel@holyspiritvb.org

3. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, R.C.I.A.

The R.C.I.A. process is designed for: a) unbaptized adults requesting the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist in the Catholic Church, b) baptized adults in other Christian churches who wish to profess their faith through the Catholic Church and request the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, and c) baptized Catholics who wish to complete the sacraments of initiation.

This year’s RCIA (2007-2008) begins in September and runs through Trinity Sunday, May 18, 2008. RCIA sessions are scheduled for Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:45. For more information, contact Deacon Bob Durel at 468-3600, ext 111 or bdurel@holyspiritvb.org

4. Adult Refresher Course.

The catechetical sessions for the R.C.I.A. are open to all members of the parish. These catechetical sessions begin at 7:00 (following the evening liturgy) on Thursday evenings. This refresher course is the same for the R.C.I.A. participants. For more information, contact Deacon Bob Durel at 468-3600, ext 111 or bdurel@holyspiritvb.org

5. Christian Small Communities.
