Parish Consultors

Through collaboration, leadership is exercised through a process of discernment with a body of consultors, open meetings and annual planning/visioning sessions.  Consultors number ten, four of whom are discerned/elected each year for a three year term.  The process is as follows:
1.  Open meetings of the parish are held on a regular basis and always before any major decision is made in the parish.
2.  The parish consultors meet with the pastor to plan the open meetings of the parish and to advise him on important issues in the parish.  When necessary, the pastor or consultors invite others to join them in their discernment.  This happens when some expertise is needed or when those affected by the decision need to be a part of the process of decision-making.
3.  Annual planning sessions are held every spring, along with budget hearings which involve all those who coordinate or chair major ministries and activities in the parish.
