Baptism is the beginning of our journey of faith, a journey that deepens as we grow and mature in our relationship with the Lord.
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated in community during Mass or in a Liturgy of the Word service according to the schedule above; the dates and times are available on a first come, first serve basis. Private Baptisms are only available due to extenuating circumstances such as a medical emergency.
The Sacrament of Baptism must be requested by the parents of the child and at least one parent must be baptized Roman Catholic. At Holy Spirit, the sacrament is celebrated periodically throughout the year at the weekend liturgies as well as on Sunday afternoons at 2 PM (see schedule above).
Baptism Preparation Class for parents is a requirement of the diocese. Classes are one evening session and are held in Activity B and the Worship Space.
Sponsors must be able to answer “Yes” to all applicable questions on the following Sacramental Sponsor Certificate and a church representative MUST sign and seal the bottom of the form.
You must have at least one primary godparent who has been baptized Roman Catholic, is a practicing Catholic in good standing, at least 16years old.
Parents are not eligible to be sponsors.
