Eucharist is one of the three sacraments which initiate us into the church. The parish community supports and assists parents in preparing their children for the initial reception of Eucharist.
Christian Formation. Children must be registered in Christian Formation classes for the current school year by September 5th in order to participate in the sacramental preparation program for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist which is a separate program from Christian Formation.
First Sacraments Orientation. Attending orientation is required to register, and the dates for 2019-2020 are as follows:
(You only need to attend ONE of the following orientation sessions)
Sunday, September 29th in Activity B from 9:10 to 9:45 a.m.
Sunday, October 13th in Activity B from 9:10 to 9:45 a.m.
Registration. At your orientation session you will complete a registration form to enroll your child in sacramental preparation. The fee for First Sacraments is $50.00 (can be paid in full or in 2 installments of $25.00) which covers student and parent books for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, class and retreat supplies, and the First Communion Banner. A certified copy of your child’s Baptismal certificate is required and must be received by December 8th. If an extension on the Baptismal certificate is needed, please contact Joseph Gurliaccio at (757) 468-3600 x105.
