Come forward for a blessing with arms crossed. Your First Sunday Here's what a typical Sunday looks like from arrival to fellowship. 1 Before Mass Greeters will welcome you at the entrance. Feel free to ask them any questions. Pick up a bulletin to see what's happening. Take a seat anywhere - no reserved seating except front rows for families with young children. 2 During Mass Follow along in the missalette found in the pew. Stand when others stand, sit when others sit. Participation is encouraged but never required. It's okay to be unfamiliar - we all started somewhere! 3 After Mass Join us for coffee and fellowship in the parish hall (most Sundays). Our pastor often greets people at the door. Pick up a "New Parishioner" packet. No pressure - come back when you're ready! FAMILIES WELCOME Bringing Children Children are always welcome in our church! We're a family-friendly parish. 1 We have a cry room at the back of the church with sound so you can still fully participate in Mass. Nursing mothers are welcome to use this space. Remember: children are ALWAYS welcome in the main church . Don't feel you need to leave if they make noise, we're a family parish and everyone understands! Here is the latest update on the project: In early July, the architects and structural engineers visited the existing prayer garden, the future site of our new Columbarium. They inspected the site and gathered the necessary information to commence work on the construction drawings. In addition, a survey team is currently developing a site survey. Upon completion, both the construction drawings and site survey will be submitted to the City of Virginia Beach for review and approval. Concurrent with city review, the Diocese of Richmond review and approval will also occur. Per the current timeline, once all approvals are received, construction will take approximately 7 weeks, with completion expected in the first quarter of 2027. ELIGIBILITY Only Catholics and their immediate family members are eligible for inurnment. Five niches are reserved for the indigent and five for Religious Orders, as approved by the Pastor. PAYMENT Full payment is required at time of purchase. Partial payments are not permitted. Niches are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis upon payment. Payment by check or credit card (3.65% surcharge). URN PROVIDED Only the urn provided by Holy Spirit Parish may be used. The urn cost is included in the niche price. Once sealed, the container cannot be reopened. Urns are inscribed with the deceased's name. INSCRIPTION INCLUDED The granite niche cover will be inscribed with the name, date of birth, and date of death at no additional cost.
